Kabootar Wale Baba: Mahant Rajpuri Ji Maharaj of Juna Akhara. People affectionately call him ‘Kabootar Wale Baba’. He has been wandering around with a dove on his head for the past 9 years. People keep gathering around him.
There is a gathering of saints and sages from all over the country in the Maha Kumbh Mela taking place in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Every day, strange and interesting saints are the center of attention. One of them is Mahant Rajpuri Ji Maharaj of Juna Akhara. People affectionately call him ‘Kabootar Wale Baba’. Because he has been wandering around with a dove on his head for the past 9 years. Anyone who comes to Kumbh sees Baba and the dove perched on his head and cannot stop.
‘Kabootar Baba’ is a resident of Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. A dove always sits on his head, not moving from there even when he shakes it. While talking to India Today, Baba said that serving sentient beings is the greatest religion. He said:
“The name of the dove is ‘Hari Puri’. It has been nine years since it has been with me. In this world, the living being is Shiva. Serving a living being is serving Shiva. Be it a living being or a human being, one should love everyone. There is nothing without love. This is the third Kumbh of Hari Puri. What is visible here is not there. What is invisible is there. This Hari Puri is supernatural. If it were an ordinary dove, it would have pecked at grains somewhere. But this is a supernatural game. This dove has also taken a bath.”
Baba believes that those who serve sentient beings will receive spiritual benefits. Baba himself can be seen feeding the dove with grains and water. Mahant Rajpuri Maharaj’s message of love for all living beings reflects the depth, diversity and greatness of the Maha Kumbh. His message of love and kindness towards all living beings is spreading from the land of Prayagraj to the Maha Kumbh.
