Saif Ali Khan was seriously injured when a man stabbed him multiple times in his 12th floor flat in Bandra on Thursday morning. The actor was stabbed multiple times in several places including the neck, after which he had to undergo emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. He is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital.
The attack on Bollywood film star Saif Ali Khan has created a stir in the entire country. Various speculations are being made about the reason for the attack. Maharashtra’s Minister of State for Home Affairs (Urban) Yogesh Kadam on Friday gave the reason for the attack. When asked whether an underworld gang is behind the attack, he said that no underworld gang is behind the knife attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan. Along with this, he said that Saif Ali Khan did not inform the police about any kind of threat, he did not even ask for security. He said that theft was the only motive behind the attack on actor Saif Ali Khan in his Mumbai apartment and he denied any other aspect.

Police detained a person
Addressing a press conference in Pune, minister Kadam said that the Mumbai Police has detained a person whose facial features match the suspected attacker, whose image was captured in CCTV cameras while fleeing from the building. He said that the person has a criminal record and the police are questioning him.
Theft is the only motive behind the incident
When asked about the possible involvement of a criminal gang in the attack, the minister said that any such aspect has been ruled out in the preliminary investigation. He said that so far theft appears to be the only motive behind the incident. Kadam said that the Mumbai Police has detained a person whose facial features match the person seen in the CCTV camera. The police are searching for one more person.
In the CCTV footage, the suspected attacker can be seen wearing a red scarf and carrying a bag and descending the stairs from the sixth floor of the ‘Satguru Sharan’ building, where Saif Khan lived.
Mumbai is the safest city in the country: Chandrashekhar Bawankule
On the other hand, another Maharashtra minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said that the state government and the police department have taken prompt action in the attack on actor Saif Ali Khan. Along with this, he stressed that Mumbai is one of the safest cities in the country. Let us tell you that after the incident, opposition parties had alleged that Mumbai is not a safe city. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis (who also holds the Home Department) has failed to maintain law and order.
