Yalapura: A horrific road accident has taken place on Yalapura highway in Karnataka’s Uttara Kannada district. A truck carrying vegetables lost control and collided with a tripper in Gulapur, in which the truck was blown to pieces. 10 people have died and 15 people have been injured in this accident. What did the police say?
A police officer said that the vegetable truck in which they were traveling fell into a 50-meter deep ravine in the early hours of Wednesday. The victims, all fruit vendors, had left from Savanur and were headed towards the Yalapura fair to sell fruits. Uttara Kannada Superintendent of Police M Narayan said that they were traveling on the Savanur-Hubli road, the accident took place in a forested area.
Narayan told the media, ‘At around 4 am, the truck driver went to the extreme left to give way to another vehicle and fell into a ravine about 50 meters deep.’ He said that there is no safety wall on the road in the valley. The official said, ’10 people died on the spot and 15 were seriously injured. The injured have been admitted to KIMS Hospital in Hubli.’
Road accident in Sindhanur too, 4 dead
