Mahakumbh 2025: The land of Maha Kumbh held on the banks of Sangam is considered very sacred. A fair of saints is held here. In a separate arena in the fair, Dandi Swami is immersed in the devotion of God. Other saints consider him very sacred.
Kumbh Mela 2025: There is a gathering of saints on the banks of Sangam. Saints are doing penance on the banks of Sangam by lighting a fire for the welfare of the world. Naga sadhus, saints, Shankaracharya and saints of all the Akharas and monasteries have arrived in this Maha Kumbh of Sangam. There is another saint here who is called Dandi Swami. It is said that no one can touch Dandi Swami and neither can he touch anyone. The life of these saints is spent passing difficult tests. Saints are considered very holy.
The Danda is very sacred
The arena of these saints is situated in Sector 19 on the banks of Sangam. These sanyasis have a Danda, which is considered very sacred, the saints consider this Danda as a link between themselves and God. Not everyone can become a Dandi Swami. Only Brahmins can become Dandi Swami. Their life is very difficult. Dandi Swamis always walk on foot.
The rules are difficult
The Dandi Sanyasi has to keep his hair tied, sit on a Kush seat, wear Chiravasan and Mekhala. Also, he has to always keep the Danda with him. It is believed that these Swamis later become Shankaracharya.
Saints consider it as a form of God
If we believe the scriptures, this Danda is a symbol of Narayan, it is also considered as Brahma Danda. There are rules for wearing the Danda. The saint who wears it carries this Danda for 12 years and then after the completion of the period, the Danda is thrown into the Ganga. Saints holding the stick always keep it with them and also keep it covered outside or in a crowded place so that it does not touch anyone. All the saints and sages consider Dandi Swami as a form of Lord Vishnu.
