
Southfield, Michigan — On January 31, 2025, at around 9:30 a.m., Southfield Police received a 911 report from a man who said he had been carjacked outside his home. The victim was sitting in his vehicle’s driver’s seat in his driveway in the 21000 block of Negaunee when a man wearing a hoodie approached him and demanded his vehicle – a blue 2022 Chevy Trailblazer.
The suspect, later identified as 19-year-old Hubbie Marion III, told him “Relax, just give me the keys” before getting in the vehicle and speeding away. A short time later, officers managed to identify the stolen vehicle before chasing it down. The suspect lost control in the 23000 block of Samoset and crashed into a ditch. The suspect exited the vehicle and while trying to run away with a gun, was struck by one of the police cruisers as officers were able to take him into custody immediately after, uninjured.
