Delhi News: Aam Aadmi Party staged a massive protest outside the Chief Minister’s office in the Assembly on Monday. The MLAs demanded the implementation of Mahila Samman Yojana. The protest was led by Leader of Opposition Atishi. The MLAs reached the Chief Minister’s office with posters in their hands. It was written on the poster when women will get Rs 2500. Atishi met Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and also talked about the Mahila Samman Yojana.
Atishi slammed the BJP for not getting assurance from the Chief Minister. She said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had guaranteed to pass the Mahila Samman Yojana in the first cabinet. The first cabinet meeting was held on February 20. Rs 2500 for women has not been announced yet. BJP has broken PM Modi’s first promise. She expressed hope that the BJP government will deposit Rs 2500 in the accounts of women by March 8. Atishi said that time was sought to meet the Chief Minister two days ago. When time was not available, it was decided to meet the Chief Minister during the session.
AAP’s protest outside the Chief Minister’s office
He said that during the meeting, the Chief Minister was talked about the Mahila Samman Yojana. Atishi said that as the second guarantee, PM Modi had guaranteed to send the first installment of the Mahila Samman Yojana by March 8. During the meeting with the Chief Minister, the demand was made to fulfill the promise by March 8. He said that the women of Delhi are waiting for Rs 2500 to come in their accounts. The Leader of Opposition said that before the swearing-in ceremony, it was predicted that the BJP government would make excuses for not fulfilling the promises.
Demand to implement Mahila Samman Yojana
He said that in the first government of Aam Aadmi Party, the budget of Delhi was Rs 30 thousand crores. The then Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal ran a profitable government. People were given the facility of free electricity, water, good schools, hospitals, free bus travel and pilgrimage. Today, after 10 years of government, BJP has got a budget of Rs 77 crore in Delhi. BJP is saying that the government treasury is empty. He said that there is no shortage of money in Delhi’s treasury. According to Atishi, BJP does not intend to give Rs 2500 to women.
