A monkey scared a woman off her motorbike in Binh Chanh and 28 wild animals have just been released back into the wild.
On July 27, the Ho Chi Minh City Forest Protection Department coordinated with the Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve (Ma Da Commune, Vinh Cuu District, Dong Nai Province) to release 29 wild animals into the natural environment.
The 29 wild animals belong to 12 species, including: python, pig-tailed macaque, red-faced macaque, long-tailed macaque, clouded monitor lizard, flower monitor lizard, brown-headed hawksbill, toothed turtle, three-ridged turtle, black-backed box turtle, large land turtle, and yellow mountain turtle.
These animals were mainly voluntarily handed over by local people to the Ho Chi Minh City Forest Protection Department.
After being taken to the wildlife rescue station for care, when their health was stable, the animals were released to the Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve.
Among the released wild animals was a red-faced monkey (weighing about 8 kg) voluntarily handed over by Mr. Nguyen Van De (in Le Minh Xuan commune, Binh Chanh district) to the Ho Chi Minh City Forest Protection Department on March 27, 2024, as reported by PLO.
Specifically, this monkey jumped on a motorbike, scaring a woman, causing her to fall and suffer minor scratches on her hand while driving.
Mr. De was sawing a tree nearby and sawed that he had caught the monkey. With the wish that the animal would be released back into the wild, Mr. De contacted the forest ranger to hand it over.
