Delhi CM and AAP leader Atishi held a press conference on Sunday in the case of attack on Arvind Kejriwal. During this, she revealed the criminal background of the accused and targeted him by linking him to BJP.
New Delhi: AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal was attacked on Saturday. Atishi held a press conference today regarding this attack. In her press conference, Atishi said, ‘Arvind Kejriwal’s car was attacked yesterday in New Delhi Assembly. BJP goons carried out this attack. Everyone saw the video and the attack was done with such a big stone that if it had hit someone, it could have been fatal. Who were these people who attacked Kejriwal? The name of the person seen in the video of the assault is Shanky. He is the vice president of BJP, he puts up posters of Pravesh Verma in his area and is often found with Pravesh Verma. He is seen with Pravesh Verma in campaigning.’
First accused – Rahul alias Shanky
She further said, ‘Now who is this person Rahul alias Shanky. He is a person with a hardcore criminal background. Rahul is accused of attempted robbery, which carries a punishment of seven years. There are cases under Arms Act, which carry a punishment of two years. There is an FIR in Chhatarpur police station, in which a case is registered under several sections. What is this, these are sections of robbery. These are sections of assault and attempt to murder. There can be a punishment of ten years in this. The case of this robbery is still going on. The next case is of robbery registered in Paharganj police station. A case is registered of attacking and killing someone during robbery. It is very clear that goons were sent to attack Arvind Kejriwal. Such goons were sent who already have cases of robbery and murder during robbery going on.’
Second accused – Rohit Tyagi
Atishi further said, ‘The name of the other people involved in this attack is Rohit Tyagi. There is a photo with Pravesh Verma on his Facebook page. He continuously participated in the campaign of Pravesh Verma. He is also a hardcore criminal. Three serious cases are going on against him. A case of theft was registered in 2011, another FIR was registered in 2014, in which a case of attempt to murder along with theft is registered and the third case was registered in 2017, in which the allegation of murder is made.’
Third accused- Sumit
Talking about another accused, Atishi said, ‘The third person’s name is Sumit, against whom cases of theft, robbery, attempt to murder during robbery are going on in different police stations. All these cases show that the BJP goons who attacked Kejriwal are well trained goons of the BJP. If such people were sent to attack Kejriwal, then it is very clear that the BJP, out of frustration of its defeat, has come down to kill Kejriwal. Cutting votes did not work, adding fake votes did not work, so now they want to attack Arvind Kejriwal. Now it is clear.’
