“This year marks 75 years of the Constitution”
In the 118th episode of the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “I wish all countrymen a Happy Republic Day in advance. This year’s Republic Day is very special. This is the 75th anniversary of the Indian Republic. This year marks 75 years of the Constitution being implemented. I salute all those great personalities of the Constituent Assembly, who gave us our sacred Constitution. During the Constituent Assembly, long discussions took place on many topics. Those discussions, the thoughts of the members of the Constituent Assembly, their words are our great heritage. Today in Mann Ki Baat, my effort is to make you listen to the original voices of some great leaders. When the Constituent Assembly started its work, Baba Saheb Ambedkar had said a very important thing about mutual cooperation. Baba Saheb was emphasizing that the Constituent Assembly should work together, with one opinion and together for the benefit of all.” During this, PM Modi played audio clips of Baba Saheb Ambedkar, Dr. Rajendra Prasad and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.
PM spoke about Election Commission
PM Modi said, “January 25 is National Voters’ Day. This day is important because on this day the ‘Election Commission of India’ was established. Our constitution makers have given a very important place in the constitution to our Election Commission for people’s participation in democracy. I would also like to thank the Election Commission, which has modernized and strengthened our voting process from time to time. The Commission used the power of technology to give more power to the people’s power. I congratulate the Election Commission for its commitment to fair elections.”
What did the Prime Minister say on Maha Kumbh?
In the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program, PM Modi said, “The Maha Kumbh has begun in Prayagraj. Unforgettable crowd, unimaginable scene and extraordinary confluence of equality and harmony, this time many divine yogas are also being formed in Kumbh. This festival of Kumbh celebrates unity in diversity. People from all over India, from all over the world gather on the sands of Sangam. There is no discrimination, no casteism anywhere in this tradition that has been going on for thousands of years. ‘Kumbh’, ‘Pushkaram’ and ‘Ganga Sagar Mela’ – these festivals of ours, are festivals that increase our social interaction, harmony, unity. At the event, the PM said, “I am proud to inform that an Indian space-tech start-up, Pixxel of Bengaluru, has successfully launched India’s first private satellite constellation – ‘Firefly’. This satellite constellation is the world’s most high-resolution hyper spectral satellite constellation. A few days ago, our scientists achieved another major achievement in the space sector. PM Modi said, “There is a place in Assam called ‘Naugaon’. ‘Naugaon’ is also the birthplace of our country’s great personality Srimanta Shankardev ji. This place is very beautiful. There is also a big abode of elephants here. Many incidents were being seen in this area, where herds of elephants used to destroy crops, due to which the farmers were troubled. People of about 100 villages around this were very troubled, but the villagers also understood the helplessness of the elephants. Therefore, the villagers thought of finding a solution to this. A team of villagers was formed, which was named ‘Haathi Bandhu’. The Haathi Bandhu showed wisdom and made a unique effort on about 800 bigha of barren land. Here the villagers together planted Napier grass. Elephants like this grass very much. The result of this was that elephants reduced going towards the fields. ”
Startup completes 9 years
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “StartUp India has completed 9 years a few days ago. More than half of the Startups that have been formed in our country in 9 years are from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities and when we hear this, every Indian’s heart becomes happy, that is, our StartUp culture is not limited to big cities.”
“Two new tiger reserves added in two months”
He said, “Our culture and heritage teaches us to live with love with the animals and birds around us. It is a matter of great happiness for all of us that in the last two months, two new tiger reserves have been added in our country. One of these is Guru Ghasidas-Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve in Chhattisgarh and the other is Ratapani Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh.” At the same time, PM Modi said in the program, “Deepak Nabam ji has set a unique example of service in Arunachal Pradesh. Deepak ji runs a living home here. Where mentally ill, physically challenged people and elderly people are served. People suffering from drug addiction are taken care of here.”
“Virgin coconut oil got GI tag”
During the program, the Prime Minister said, “Virgin coconut oil in Nicobar district has recently got GI Tag. After GI Tag to Virgin coconut oil, another new initiative has been taken. Women associated with the production of this oil have been organized.
Self help groups are being formed. They are also being given special training in marketing and branding. This is a big step towards economically empowering our tribal communities.”
