Naga Sadhus consider Dhuni a symbol of Lord Shiva, due to which they do not let it become impure under any circumstances. Naga Sadhus give a special place to Dhuni in their life, they meditate in front of this Dhuni and they also cook their food on this Dhuni. You may be surprised to know that Nagas cook their own food. The entire routine of Nagas is based on this Dhuni. They adorn themselves with the ashes of this Dhuni and also do penance.

Nagas consider Dhuni as a direct deity. Whatever offerings are given to them, they themselves also consume the same. Dhuni is also considered as the form of Agni Dev.
